Dehydration Unit

The first upstream installation of the complex is its gas dehydration unit located in Masjid-E-Soleiman (MIS) .
The sour gas are collected from 7 wels with varying distances, between 0/5 to 16K.M. from the gas dehydration unit, where it is properly dehydrated prior to being transferred via the 20" pipeline to the site of the complex.

Gas-Liquid Recovery Unit

New upstream installation of the complex is the liquid separation & stabilizing unit, one of the environmental target that comes up in R.P.C.
The condensate from gas line is separated in this unit and is used in the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex (BIPC).

Gas Treatment Unit

After separation the liquid from the gas line in the first unit, the dehydrated sour gas arriving in Three gas treating units. H2S & Co2 components are absorbed by diethanol amine, heating the mixture with steam, removes the H2S and regenerates-amine component.
Two stream, H2S & sweet gas is discharged from each unit. The sweet gas (mainly Methane) used as ammonia synthesis feed and fuel for power & steam generation. H2S stream is the source of elemental Sulphur production.

Sulphur Recovery Unit

The Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) stream enters into three Sulphur recovery unit after being burnt, it forms S02, then the mixture is converted by catalyst to molten Sulphur and steam by the Claus process. Part of the liquid sulphur production is fed into sulphuric Acid units and the rest is pumped to sulphur granulation unit.

Sulphur Granulation Units

Part of recovered liquid Sulphur from Sulphur recovery unit is sent to Sulphur Granulation unit for production of Granule Sulphur. This is one of the RPC's product for export.

Ammonia and Urea Unit

Ammonia is a chemical compound of the two gases Nitrogen and Hydrogen with the chemical formula NH3. Ammonia contains 82 percent Nitrogen, serving as a core component in the production of fertilizers.
The Ammonia production yields Carbon Dioxide as a by product which is reacted under high pressure with Ammonia to produce Urea.
Urea is produced as prills meeting customer requirements. The chemical formula is CO(NH2)2, having the highest Nitrogen content (46%) of all the solid fertilizers.
As technology continues to advance, RPC will incorporated industry related improvements into the operations of plants and facilities, maximizing production and efficiency to meet the demand for quality products.

Sulphuric Acid Units

In the Sulphuric Acid units the liquid Sulphur is pumped through a nozzle into a furnace, where it burns in a blast of dry air to form Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), and after contact with catalyst (V205), forms Sulphur Trioxide (SO3), which in turn combines with water to produce Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4). The Acid produced has a concentration of 98.5% most of the Sulphuric Acid production is used for the production in Phosphoric Acid at the complex.

Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) Units

Direct reaction of Ammonia with Phosphoric & Sulphuric Acid produces (DAP-NPS) which is most important and widely used Phosphor fertilizer in Iran.
The process system of DAP (No. I) is conventional and designed by T. V.A Co, DAP No.2 produced on pipe reactor system which designed by Stami Carbon Company.
Recently for agricultural requisition, DAP. Stream changed to NPS by Iranian experts. RPC is the single producer of DAP and NPS in Iran.

Phosphoric Acid Unit

The imported Phosphate rock is Reacted with Sulphuric Acid in attack tanks.
The production of the Acid digestion are Phosphoric Acid and Gypsum. Separation of Phosphoric Acid from Gypsum takes place in
filtration section. The latter is discard as waste material.
Prayon wet process is used for the manufacture of Phosphoric Acid at the initial stage, the produced Acid has a concentration of 28-30% P2O5, this is further concentrated into a product of 54% (P2O5) Most of the Phosphoric Acid is further processed into (DAP).

RPC Information System

Oracle is Used for Database Management in RPC to support RPC's entire Maintenance Management system.
RPC Uses an entire network to support finance Management requirements, personnel and payroll systems which was developed in-house.
RPC also connects to the Internet through broad band connection provided by "Data Processing Iran Company" and all workstations are connected by network to the central enterprise servers.

Storage and Product Handling

Facilitating optimum producer transference At RPC storage and product handling are streamlined and designed for optimal efficiency throughout all stage of transference of the products.

The process is highly automated with minimal manpower required to oversee the operations.
All products are transferred from the plant to the storage area via a sophisticated transfer system.
The plant's considerable capacity for storage provides a ready supply of products for dispatch around the world. Urea, DAP, Sulphur Granul and Phosphate Rock are stored in bulk halls with a feed and reclaim conveyor system separately. All products are de-dusted, weighed in microprocessor- based batch bulk scale and transported to the bulk ship loader on the jetty or packed in bags and fed onto conveyers. Ammonia is loaded in bulk RPC's Jetties facilitate the docking of three docks simultaneously for dispatch to various world wide destinations. Loading & unloading rates are as following;

  • Ammonia loading 250tph
  • Sulphur Granul loading 200 tph
  • Phosphate rock unloading 300 tph
  • Urea Export 400 tph

The system can simultaneously load eleven trailers trucks and five railroad freight cars also.
