Contract Code: 80/067
Since, there isn’t any auxiliary furnace in outlet gas stream of condenser No.1 in old sulfur unit and it causes that gas inters into catalistic beds with more sulfur so, according to environmental purposes and increasing the efficiency of production a project is performed for designing and installing an auxiliary furnace in outlet gas stream condenser No.1. By installing the condenser, which cools the inlet gas by BFW water to 175- 180c temperature the produced sulfur will be separate from the gas by reaction furnace in condenser No.1 and then the outlet gas of condenser will warm up by auxiliary furnace and in this thermogenic reaction, 2H2S + SO2 3S + 2H2O, sulfur is separated from gas as a reaction product so, gas is importing to catalistic bed with fewer sulfur. In total performing this plan has following benefits:
- Gas will be cooled condenser and MP steam increases.
- Sulfur temperature will decrease and cooling in granulating unit will remedy.
- Sulfur dew point decreases in bed No.1 of converter, so gas will import in bed No.1 of converter with less temperature.
- Less sulfur in the gas increases the sulfur production.
- Bed No.1 DP of converter (because of separating sulfur from gas in condenser) decreases and tubes plugging due to sulfate of sulfur will also decrease.
- Less sulfur goes toward condenser No.3, so the load on condenser separator will decrease.
